A housing tower with references to the area's industrial buildings

With its unique location directly at Amager Strandvej the 14-storey building Strandtårnet offers a fantastic view over Øresund and the nearby Strandparken.

The building is inspired by the entire Amager Strandpark, where new properties blend with older industrial buildings. Thus, Standtårnet is designed with significant brick bands as a reference to the concrete structures of the industrial buildings in the area.

The project comprises two apartments on each floor – both with full-scale views. Furthermore, all apartments are designed with large windows, gardens and balconies facing south and west.
The tower is not shaped as a square, but instead the building is designed a bit narrower towards the street, to appear more harmonious and visually elegant. Thus, the tower gets a slender geometry despite its heavy brick structures.

The square in front of the tower is designed as a flexible and active urban space. The planting refers to the meeting between the city and the beach, which characterises the area. Under the house you will find a large parking basement for the residents of Standtårnet and the nearby terraced houses.
