Søborg Møbelfabrik

A new urban district focusing on family dwellings of various sizes and made of sturdy materials

Søborg Møbelfabrik in Gladsaxe will be converted into almost 200 housing units and offices over the next few years.  The former furniture factory is being preserved as a memorial to an important industrial era in Gladsaxe and will be converted into a showroom.

The DADES property company will invest DKK 400–500 million over the next two or three years to transform Søborg Møbelfabrik on Gladsaxevej, near Ring Road 3 and the future light railway, into almost 200 brand-new housing units for families. The building project will focus on good family dwellings of various sizes and made of sturdy materials.

The old main building is being preserved as a memorial to an important industrial era in Gladsaxe and will be converted into offices, clinics or a showroom.

“The project goes well with the city council’s vision for Gladsaxe’s urban area along the ring road. They want to convert Gladsaxe’s former industrial zone into an attractive, diversified urban area where existing and new businesses are given good growth conditions, and where new modern housing units make it an attractive area to live in. I am pleased that this interesting project is on the way, and that our efforts to establish the light railway along Ring Road 3 are once again proving to be a decisive driver of urban development.”
